Resistance 3
Resistance 3 is a first-person shooter set in the alternative version of 1950's. Earth is being scourged by Chimera species, originally evolved from virus stricken humans. Despite actions taken by The Sentinels organization in previous installments, almost nothing has changed. Four years later humanity still struggles to survive, but resistance is too weak.
Joseph Capelli, who killed the protagonist of the first two Resistance games, was dishonorably discharged of SRPA services and now lives with his family in Haven, Oklahoma. During one of attacks, Capelli is contacted by Doctor Fyodor Malikov with crushing news – due to space wormhole over one of the Chimerian towers located in New York the World is being steadily frozen, so his family might not be able to survive the winter. The only way to prevent worst case scenario is to destroy it. Joe and Malikov venture towards New York.
Unlike the second game, the player can now wield all types of weapons, which were also redesigned. All weapons, except for the sledgehammer, can be upgraded two times using experience points, gained by kills wielding that weapon. Upgrades bring alternative fire modes, enhanced killing power, lower ammo consumption etc. The health system was redesigned too, as it now needs to be replenished using heath packs dropped from enemies or found in levels, and it no longer regenerates by itself.
